About PyData Seattle
PyData Seattle is a regional chapter of the international PyData community, an educational program of NumFOCUS, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the United States.
What We Do
We run regular meetups, workshops, and community events for data practitioners in the Seattle area and beyond. Topics span Python, Julia, R, the modern data stack, ML/AI infrastructure, agentic systems, responsible AI, geospatial data, and open-source tooling.
Our goal is an accessible, community-driven space where practitioners at all levels can learn from each other, contribute to open-source projects, and connect with collaborators.
PyData and NumFOCUS
PyData provides a forum for the international community of users and developers of data analysis tools to share ideas and learn from each other. The global PyData network promotes discussion of best practices, new approaches, and emerging technologies for data management, processing, analytics, and visualization.
NumFOCUS envisions an inclusive scientific and research community that utilizes actively supported open source software to make impactful discoveries for a better world. NumFOCUS supports projects including Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, Julia, and R.
